Red Robin Senior Network Engineer in Greenwood Village, Colorado

Based out of our Home Office in Greenwood Village, CO, the Senior Network Engineer will support and install the organization’s computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless local network (WLAN), DMZ’s for the Internet, intranets, and other network connectivity, as it relates to our restaurant and corporate networks.

Additionally, the role will support the Network Architect and the IT Operations Team as a whole to include MS server and related PC systems. Implementation and support of New Restaurant Openings troubleshooting and design will be a key role in the success of this position. The role will assist in troubleshooting network, router and firewall issues. General support in troubleshooting and installation of data circuits will also be performed. Daily tasks will include the need to analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely manner while documenting solutions. Maintains and utilizes network management applications to identify network faults, to ensure the provision of data or other telecommunications access to customers, and the movement of information from one location to the other.


  • Troubleshooting of local and remote network devices and operating systems

  • Generating reports on data usage and circuit traffic as needed

  • Management and implementation of corporate and restaurant wired and wireless networks

  • Maintain network architecture to include LAN, WAN and voice platforms

  • Works with vendors, partners, and suppliers to maintain projects and network stability

  • Assist with necessary data administration, security, and change management of IT Infrastructure and Operations systems

  • Works with IT Security Director to ensure network compliance for PCI

  • Creates, edits and maintains clear documentation of network and processes

  • Design configure and implement network changes to wired and wireless networks, local and remote

  • Works with NOC in troubleshooting and assisting of network issues as they arise

  • Optimizes existing designs and suggesting areas for improvement

  • Work with IP allocation, design and routing rules for LAN/WAN/WLANS and DMZ’s

  • Continuous improvement of operations and quality of work processes

  • Proactively maintains and monitors networks to provide stable, dependable network services across multiple platforms

  • Other duties as assigned by IT Management

  • Maintains documentation and knowledge articles of network architecture

  • Adhere to organizational ITIL and ITSM standards

  • Works with IT as a team to drive and implement successful projects and actively participates when necessary

  • Provides escalation assistance after hours for network devices and operating systems by participating in an "on-call" rotation.

  • An ability to clearly communicate and execute on daily tasks as well as long term projects


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related discipline

  • 10+ years networking experience with LAN/WAN/WLAN and telecommunications environment

  • Extensive hands-on experience in configuring routers and switches

  • ITIL Foundations Certification

  • Network certification required: CCNP

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Written and verbal communication required

  • Minimum network certifications required - CCNP

  • Strong knowledge of InfoBlox ActiveTrust Cloud and InfoBlox Grid, Splunk, Cisco FTD desired

  • Strong knowledge Cisco Meraki equipment required (switches, firewalls and APs)

  • Familiarity with PC operating systems and platforms from a system administrator position desired

  • Skills in network topology and design, WIFI, WAN, LAN and SD-WAN required

  • Familiarity with digital certificates desired

  • Network protocols TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, LDAP, SIP, SCCP, SSH, SMTP, TLS required

  • Ability to prioritize with good time management and judgment required

  • Excellent knowledge in telephony (PBX/VOIP/SIP) systems required

  • Ability to implement and administer intrusion detection systems required

  • Ability to collect, analyze and report on wifi analytics desired

  • Knowledge of management and implementation of authentication platforms (Cisco ISE) desired

  • Knowledge of and experience in working with SOX, HIPAA, and PCI regulations required

  • Excellent customer service skills required
