Red Robin Associate Manager, Quality and Commercialization in Greenwood Village, Colorado

Based at our Greenwood Village Home Office, the responsibilities of the Associate Manager, Quality and Commercialization, are to manage and commercialize key strategic product categories for the Red Robin brand. Commercialization of these categories encompasses hand off of products from Innovation including scale up and quality maintenance as well as supporting Cost Saving Initiative.


Product Category:

  • Lead the commercialization of key strategic product items for Corporate, Canada and Franchise.

  • Menu Team representative and expert for product improvement and cost savings/labor efficiencies.

  • Manage and monitor suppliers to ensure products meet Red Robin specifications.

  • Establish shelf life based on product's composition and microbiological results with the support of the Food Safety Team, the supplier, and external laboratories.

  • Develop and manage product specifications by utilizing and drawing conclusions from use of internal analysis equipment (Yummm U Analysis Center) and external laboratories to gather data needed and develop or improve relevant foods, such as chemical composition, flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, etc.

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain team to deliver savings and mitigate COGs risk through cost saving initiatives and alternate suppliers.

  • Collaborate with the supplier's and Red Robin's Food Safety & Innovation Teams to ensure quality and safety standards are met during commercialization phase.

Product Quality:

  • Lead evaluations of key product categories to ensure consistent product quality of Red Robin's ingredients for Corporate, Canada, and Franchise.

  • Lead investigations relating to restaurant issues (for Corporate, Canada, and Franchise) regarding good quality by addressing them effectively with suppliers, DC's and Supply Chain.

  • Implement and enforces product specifications to ensure suppliers are meeting Red Robin's quality standards.

Operational Efficiency Management:

  • Assist progress through cross functional project management.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with intra- and interdepartmental teams (Marketing, Supply Chain, Innovation/Culinary, Food Safety, Implementation, and Operations Services) for successful product launches.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with vendor-suppliers.

  • Assist with R&D projects that require consumer sensory testing, collaborate with Consumer Insights team, execute effective sensory analyses and utilize CI data to formulate a direction for the report.

Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in food science & technology or other relevant fields such as bakery science, meat science, animal science, or food nutrition.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in R&D within Food Service organization or manufacturer.


  • Experience with nutritional databases, quality dashboards, program implementation.

  • HACCP certification.

  • ServSafe certification.
